Chic modern contemporary design focus of CA Boom in Santa Monica

CA Boom 3, a festival of cutting edge contemporary architecture, landscape and interior design, is back in Santa Monica for its third year.
The festival has four days of events scheduled at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, 1855 Main St., Santa Monica.
An opening night preview party and reception are set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 23rd.
The expo itself, including special home tours and panel discussions, is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 24th to 26th. Panel discussions will be held at 10 a.m. and noon Friday through Sunday.
Home tours are between 11:15 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Tickets are $18 to $20 for general admission, $75 for home tours and $40 for the opening night reception. The home tour ticket price includes a shuttle service to five homes and a return visit to the expo.
The opening night reception will be a meet and greet for exhibitors and patrons, and the admission ticket includes drinks, a dinner buffet and DJ entertainment. Exhibitors, home tour architects and panel speakers are expected to attend, according to organizers.
At this year's event, a special emphasis will be given to prefabricated home design. Prefab exhibitors will include Marmol Radziner Prefab, Clever Homes, LivingHomes, iT house, Kit Haus, EcoContempo by Northern Steel International, Hive Modular and Sander Architects. The exhibitors will show images, models, finish samples, brochures and audiovideo presentations.
Special guest design experts scheduled to participate in the panels include Stephen Kanner, Lorcan O'Herlihy, Eames Demetrios, David Hertz, Jennifer Siegal, Eric Owen-Moss, Thomas Mayne, Larry Scarpa, Katarina Tana, Toby Long and Gregg Fleishmann.
CA Boom 3 home and architecture tours will feature an emphasis on Santa Monica sites on Friday, Venice sites on Saturday and Culver City sites on Sunday.
Santa Monica sites include the Koning Eizenberg house, designed by Koning Eizenberg Architecture; the Mazess residence, designed by Michael W. Folonis, AIA & Associates; 13 Degree building, designed by Gray Matter Architecture; and the Kumagai residence, designed by Glen Irani Architects.
Venice tour sites will include the Ehrlich residence, designed by Steven Ehrlich Architects; The Panel House, designed by David Hertz Architects; the Weber residence, designed by DU Architects; the Grove-Queen residence, designed by Idea Space Design; and 4MC House, designed by EIS Studio.
CA Boom exhibitors will cover a wide spectrum of design-related interests, including accessories, architectural services, contemporary fine art, bath and tile, ceramics, customization, doors and windows, finishes, fixtures and hardware, furniture, kitchen, landscape and outdoor design, pet furniture and supplies, water features and woodwork.
